December 5th

.......a Monday

It felt like a Monday.

If you don't think Monday has a feel,
then you must live all alone without any responsibilities or interaction with the world.

But if that's the case, then you aren't reading this....
so hopefully, everyone is with me.

I don't want to unload all the Monday frustration on a Christmas blog.
And it would be hard anyway, since I am still processing ...
I would probably say something kind of 'raw'
that would be misunderstood.

Christmas is supposed to be happy and joyous.
And I do love Christmas.
And most of the time, I am happy and excited.

But there are days -
when things are just hard

There are days
when sadness creeps up

There are days
when we miss loved ones

There are days
when God is asking us
to do something
that we don't want to do

The words to the following Christmas song pierced my heart yesterday
I was in the van alone
and let the tears fall
while the song played

If you are having "one of those days"
I hope you will find comfort in these words too.
You are not alone.

I have traveled many moonless nights
cold and weary with a babe inside
and I wonder what I've done

Holy Father, You have come
and chosen me now
to carry Your Son

I am waiting in a silent prayer
I am frightened
by the load I bear

in a world as cold as stone
must I walk this path alone?
Be with me now
Be with me now

Breath of Heaven
Hold me together
Be forever near me
Breath of Heaven

Breath of Heaven
light of my darkness
pour over me Your holiness
for You are holy
Breath of Heaven

Do you wonder as you watch my face
if a wiser one should have had my place?
But I offer all I am for the mercy of Your plan

Help me be strong
Help me be...
Help me....

  1. Without the Mondays we wouldn't appreciate the other days of the week nearly as much! :)

Hang in there. You certainly have a beautiful family and you all always seem so happy in the photos and stories you share. I look forward to reading your blog posts - they always make me laugh. Well, except maybe this one. LOL. Just kidding.

I hope you, Mike, and your children have a wonderful and merry Christmas! God bless.
